Special: Video Blog! (To Cover What I Missed)

This is a special video blog of me covering the events that I missed while on my "break". Enjoy!

It's Been to(o) Long!

It really has been too long. School has been really busy though as I get settled in. Sorry. But as I stated when I started this blog it was only supposed to be through the summer. I'm trying to continue the blog however, it may become increasingly difficult to do so. I will try my best but these breaks are to be expected. Thank You.

Say It Ain't So ABC News! Say It Ain't So!

ABC News president David Weston has announed that Charles Gibson, anchor of the Evening News for ABC will be retiring at the end of the year. And would you like to know who will be replacing him. . .Diane Swayer. I can't believe it. I'm utterly shocked! First off, the Gibson-Swayer-Roberts team was by far (imo) the best Good Morning America (GMA) had ever seen. When Peter Jennings died and Bob Woodruff got injured and Elizabeth Vargas took time off to raise her children, Charlie came in and took the job. . .and was good at it! I missed him on GMA, but Diane and Robin held their own along with Chris Cumo and Sam Champion (after Tony went back to DC). But now with Diane leaving. . .I don't know. I'm saddened by the turn of events. I do hope the best for Diane the second woman to anchor the evening news (it seems Brian is the only man left), and hope Charlie well wishes in retirement. My dad sure enjoys it. J out. :(

Jon and Kate. . .Get a Life.

It seems these two thirtysomethings, who had nothing better to do than get married and have 8 children, are clinging to the spotlight. Sometimes it is unintentional (the vultures of the media), but more than likely they are the ones with the hype. Those two seem to have thought that they could get in this relationship, get married, have a buttload of children (and not in the natural way, at least for 6 of them), then parade the children and their home life around on television. And doing so without any consequences, just all benefits. Well they were wrong and they are now probably putting there kids through the eight worst hells (no pin intended). Now that they are both single, Jon has seem to gone crazy and Kate just sits there and explains her side of the story. Now they are going to continue to do the show. . .for what!? I mean the marrige broke up and they need to console their kids in privacy than on national televsion. Kate's going to be on "The View" during Liz Hasselback's leave and Jon is going to try to be that Warren Beatty type man who's always dating somebody different. Jon, Kate. . .go out and get a real life. J out.

Brett Farve!? Can't He Make Up His *bleep* *bleep* Mind!

Obviously Brett Farve needs to hear that song that Ashley sang on that one episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". He's back again for his 19th season of consecutive football and a 2nd season flip flopping. When will this guy go away. He sticks around just like Dick Wolf and the original "Law and Order". Although I have never metioned it. . .Brett Farve after saying he WOULD NOT return for another season, he did anyway. Psssh. He changes his mind more than traffic light. Great to see his consecutive reign continue, but when he says he's going to do something. . .HE NEEDS TO DO IT! J out.

The Odds Have It Against Me

It seems the odds have it against me for some reason. Me and the family made a move and the internet was to be out for a few days. But after some "snafu" the delivery of internet, cable, and telephone has been delayed. Arrrrgh! In any case this post and the next one will be the last one until (hopefully) Tuesday.

Millionare Makes Its Triumphant Return

I don't know about everybody else but I am glad to see Who Wants to Be A Millionare (WWTBAM) return to primetime on ABC with Regis. It's welcome refresh to see the show that spawned other shows that offer a top prize of $1 Million such as Deal or No Deal, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, The Price is Right Primetime Special (post 2003). While some people can't keep up with the difficulty of the questions, I'm always willing to give it a try. WWTBAM is only on though for an 11 day stint, so get your Regis induced suspense while you can. lol.

TWITTER DOWN! SCRAMBLE THE JETS!

A shock for those social networking junkies. Twitter has been hacked and subsequently shut down. While the impresive team has allowed limited access in some areas, people can't document their every move fully until later this evening. I wonder if there is such a thing as Twitter withdrawl? Be careful out there still proof that the internet is still an unsafe place and the vultures of hackers are waiting for their prey. . .YOU! Be safe. lol.

The Vacation is Over (sort of)

I'm sure you've been wondering where I've been. Right? Well I've been getting things together for school and my family's move. But now I have time and while the vacation here is over I'm on a nice trip in Williamsburg. I'll be here though so. . .I'm BACK!

That's the Way It Is

The Most Trusted Man in America has died. Walter Cronkite was literally the epitome of newsmen. He set the gold standard by which all others had to be compared to. If I still want to do with my life, what I want to do with my life Mr. Cronkite would be my idol. Funny that his death falls around the anniversary of the moon landing (post to come later) that he so championed for and covered extensively. I can remember only two times in which Walter semi-lost his composure on air. 1.) During the assination coverage for John F. Kennedy (with whom Walter was very good friends) and 2.) After Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the moon. He was truly and icon and his work and legacy shan't be forgotten. When you look at a news cast 50 years from now it will modeled after his example. Goodbye Walter and "That's the Way It Is"

Harry Potter Tonight (I Can't Wait)

So "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" comes out tonight and my eyes are burning to catch a glimpse of the film. Why you ask? Well, first of all Harry Potter is a hot property. I'm more hard pressed to see this film than I was to see Bruno (especially since I was sick when my Bruno opportunity came and went). But the real reason I want to see the film is to see how they deal with 1.) Dumbledore's death but really 2.) his sexuality since it came out in the book that he was gay. I'll also be happy to see the return of Quidditch, that wizard pastime as the movie comes out on the heels of an American Pastime. It should be a good one. Unfortunetly I can't see the midnight showing due to prior commitments but will be seeing during the day. Happy viewing.

I'm So Excited

Perhaps the most exciting news for me in the anime world since the discovery of Christopher R. Sabat. FUNimation has announced that they will be releasing the complete 1st season of DragonBall following their restoration of it. Now they have previously released the series but like most FUNimation series released pre-2005 it was in volumes and then compiled into saga sets that cost an outrageous amount of money. Doing it that way it would become very difficult to compile the series as season. I will be buying (I don't know about the rest of you).

Happy Independance Day!

Well we've reached our 233rd Anniversary of our country's independance. Enjoy the day (for some a sunny one and others a rainy one) and be safe with the fireworks. Also watch an exemplar movie that describes our country perfectly: Independance Day. Nothing says red, white, blue like Will Smith, aliens, and the White House exploding. Tune in TNT @ 8pm Sunday.
Also check that fattening American tradition, The Hot Dog Eating contest. I believe ESPN will cover it. Chestnut or Kobyashi? Or someone from out of nowhere? Tune in. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

It's Been A While & Billy Mays

I'm making big changes this fall so if I don't post regularly I'm sorry. While I was off the world of infomercials suffered a devistating loss. Billy Mays was 50 when his wife found him unresponsive in the bed. How could something like this happen. Oh he will be missed. While he may rank 3rd on the list of important people (behind Farrah and Michael) he's the one who has remained in the public eye constantly. Goodbye Billy.

For Michael (What Can Be Said?)

You've been with us for long and now that your gone "I Want You Back". Although you know through your music "You'll (I'll) Be There". From the young age of 11 you taught us our "ABC"s and then grew to a person who told us to "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" and "Don't Stop til You Get Enough" of your music. I could always find a happy mood in your music and spent my time alone to "Rock With You". "Can You Feel It" Michael? Feel the love of your fans. You personal life was a "Thriller" and you one kind "Human Nature". Then the scandal came and you asked everyone why you "Wanna Be Startin Something" and even as the pressure came down you were a "Smooth Criminal". As the hits came out you remanined "Bad", although you seemed to flip a coin to be "Black or White" we stood by you. You see "We (I) Just Can't Stop Loving You". You helped us see the "Man in the Mirror", ourselves, and that "We (You) Are Not Alone". You told us of your "Billie Jean" and "P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing)" and didn't tell us to "Beat It", even when we seemed to be against you. You were a "Dangerous" man Mike. "The Way Your Music Makes Us (You) Feel" shan't be forgotten. We "Remember the Time" when you use to "Rock Our (My) World". Taken away so early it seems. Goodbye.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop
1958-2009
It's a sad day as people celebrate and mourn over the life of the king of pop. After collapsing at his home he was rushed to the hospital, where after an hour of resusitation efforts he died.

He was to make a comeback tour this fall in London. I was looking forward to that as I hadn't seen a good performance since his last concert, the 2001 30th Anniversary Special on TV (anybody remember that?). It's not going to be the same ever again.

Do You Think This is Racist?

http://
During the 30's, 40's, and 50's racial stereotyping was common among the entertainment industry. In the scene from the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes short "Southern Fried Rabbit" Bugs, who is trying to find fresh carrots in Georgia, dresses as a slave to get by Yosemite Sam, a guard of the Mason-Dixon Line who is still time warped in the Civil War. This scene was cut by every network who aired it (Fox, WB, and Cartoon Network) and usually hasn't been seen by the public.

I believe that yes it does stereotype but there's no problem in its intended humor. However, I can see the networks worry because either: 1.)Some sensitive black person will call in to complain about a cartoon made over 50 years ago or 2.)A parent may say that it influences bad qualities into their child (which I have to say may have some validity).

What do you think? I think the clip is funny.

My Late Night Set Up

All of the sudden I had this urge to create this blog. I hope to achieve conveing my thoughts to everyone (why would you care?. . .I don't know). Enjoy what have thoughts on and comment on what you think is right, wrong, or interesting.

My name is Jason. I've been often described my friends as a "80 year old man in a 17 (going on 18) year old's body". I love to think so here is this blog. I'll soon be going to Frostburg and this blog is only here for the summer (maybe).
